Our thanks to all of you that attended our recent monthly meeting. The winning classrooms for the PTO Classroom Buddies are Mrs. Carruth for ET and Mrs. Kazinskas for TC.
The playground equipment has come in for the Templeton Center School and should be in place by the end of June. June 14 has been selected as installation day with a rain date of June 28. We are looking for volunteers to help dig holes, spread pea stone, and various other jobs. Anyone interested in helping should call Lori Mattson at 978-939-4896 or Kristin Tenney at 978-939-8960.
Mrs. Earley was on hand and updated us on the Summer Reading Program. She is still planning a Book Swap for sometime in July. A motion was made and passed to allocate $400.00 to purchase multiple copies of the required books for the Swap.
There will be a change in the fall fundraiser. The Katherine Beich Company has been purchased by Great American Opportunities and a decision was made to pursue other options. Regardless of which company is chosen, the PTO fundraiser will run in early September.
Originally $3,527.23 from the Butter Braids fundraiser was going to be used to purchase laptops and software for ET and TC, but a motion was passed to instead allocate $3,680.00 to purchase two Infocus projectors and two Mimeo Interactive devices for the schools.
There was a preliminary discussion to look at different options for future class trips. Mr. Garofalo and the teachers will evaluate the current lineup and will meet with the PTO Board members during the summer to discuss.
Several positions on the Executive Board of the PTO are open for the 2008-2009 school year, however those who are currently holding those positions may still be nominated/elected at our September meeting if they so wish.
